Puritan Mill was originally constructed for the American Machine Manufacturing Company between 1917-1918. Seven years later, Knott and Carmichael Furniture Manufactures occupied the property, only to be replaced by Puritan Chemical Company (PCC) in 1946. PCC manufactured soap and cleaning products before these products were shipped along the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad. Despite the company’s departure in 1996, numerous PCC original and archived advertisements and product catalogs can be found throughout present-day Puritan Mill.
